Asbestos in building construction 1959
This was clipped from the 1959 film, Asbestos a matter of time, by the US Bureau of Mines, Department of the Interior. For more information about asbestos, asbestos-related diseases and ways to help protect yourself, family and friends from this deadly mineral, link to the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) founded in 2004 by asbestos victims and their families. ADAO seeks to give asbestos victims and concerned citizens a united voice to help ensure their rights are fairly represented and protected, while raising public awareness about the dangers of asbestos exposure and often deadly asbestos related diseases. ADAO is an independent organization that can be found at

another example indicating the carelessness of big companies exploiting the
public to fill their and their shareholders pockets. They didnt give a shit
about the health complications, even those that were mining the shit from
the outstart & who fell ill as a result, were told not to worry, they were
continually told it wasnt a direct relation to their work. fucking liers. &
to think the victims and their families are still chasing after these
arseholes for compensation IT SHOULD BE MANDITORY!

I just came home from taking glass fibre insulation out of an attic and saw
an asbestos pipe under one of the sheets. I cried OH LAWDY LAWDY and spent
the rest of the day working in the opposite corner with two masks on rubber
gloves and a sweatshirt.

April 17, 2011 @ 5:20 pm

May 28, 2011 @ 9:27 pm
i hate it!!!! deadliest occupational hazard~
June 4, 2011 @ 7:42 am
@xXBOOMER760Xx Unless you actually disturbed the asbestos and made it
become airborne, you did no harm to yourself. And even if you did, it’s not
necessarily a big deal. I’ve read many medical sources that all said that
usually the people who get sick are people who worked in the presence of
airborne asbestos for many years without adequate respirators. Don’t worry
about it. Unless you work with the stuff on a daily basis for a long time,
you’re not at a greater risk than the average person.

@heiwuleizhizi I would disagree. Whats the Asbestos going to do, jump out
of the walls, shingles, piping, insluation? No, as long as you don`t go
drilling into it or cutting it.

Mark, Thanks for posting this 50’s promo piece for asbestos. As most people
understand after years of research and discovery, asbestos is a silent
killer no matter how you handle it. The material should be banned on a
worldwide scale!

We didn’t know any better back then we also did not have the educational
tools back then like internet. Only a handful of people knew about the
dangers of this material
August 2, 2013 @ 2:00 am
Unfortunately, inspite the known dangers of asbestos, many are still using
this material in construction.
