Wide building ledges can create cleaning problems as birds start to gather in these areas regularly. Feathers and feces will usually be the biggest problems and if these areas are located over windows and doors or restaurant seating areas, you could end up spending a lot of money keeping these areas clean. Architects and home designers have a responsibility to gather as much information as they possibly can to make your job as a building owner or occupant a little less stressful.

What would be great here, would be to retro fit a 45 degree molding made of
a slippery Teflon surface. no birds could stand.
I see the Banks put like a sharp wiry mesh, like a razor ribbon on there
edges, but it looks ugly.
