This door was perfectly sealed around the entire perimeter to eliminate any possible water intrusion from the installation. The chamber test was set for a Positive Design Pressure (DP) of +48 (new lower DP’s for the region) which calculates to 1.368″ on the vacuum side (the negative DP is –85).
The test requires three 5 minute periods with negative pressure from the calibrated vac system (which simulates positive pressure in conjunction with the spray rack) with two intermediate rest periods of sixty seconds without vacuum. The spray rack continues to operate through the entire test.
This test lasted less than 30 seconds before almost a half gallon of water came into the room.
ICF recommends replacement of EVERY window or door that does not meet the minimum design pressure.
