Water Damage Update
Just wanted to give an update for the water issue in my basement: I had to cut out and remove some of the carpet to prevent more damage. The room is moved to the side until it dries out which means two steps back to get a step forward. I will continue to bring videos and hope to try and shoot a video a day for the month of August.

Water Damage Update – Still hope to bring a video everyday in August

Try not to worry mate, you gotta remember you are doing what needs to be
done and your collection will be safe :)

Carpets probably don’t belong in a basement. Never understood why they are
so common in the US and Canada. I hope you get it resolved. I’d be most
freaked out about the water reaching the electrical sockets.

Hope everything goes well. You are lucky

That’s super lucky that none of your collection got wet! Good luck getting
everything fixed up :)
August 7, 2014 @ 10:52 pm
good good good good nothing ruined :)
August 7, 2014 @ 10:56 pm
Look on the bright side: now would be a good time to try and find a
Nintendo theme carpet, if it exists.

collection didn’t get damaged.
August 7, 2014 @ 11:16 pm

What area are u in? I’m from east of Toronto from Peterborough. I’m in BC
now though. That sucks man, hope none of your stuff is wrecked.

Im glad nothing got damaged man (aside from the carpet). Very good thinking
ahead with having everything off the ground.

Have fun with that…I remember when our basement flooded (two times damn
it). It was a mess. We don’t get flooding (even though we live in
Washington), one time it was our water pipes and the second time was our
water tank.
So we had a lot of stuff stored just on the floor in cardboard boxes.
Needless to say we threw a lot out. One of the times my mom swares we threw
out her original in the box Atari 2600 🙁
I found the games for it but I’ve never found the system so it must be long
gone…shame. I have an Atari 2600 but it would mean a lot to have my mom’s
original one she played on with my dad back in the day.

Did you try sucking up the water with a shop vac? I feel for you buddy,
hope all is well.

I recently started watching your collecting tip vids, my condolences. I was
recently in Toronto, too bad I didn’t know of your channel before then.
August 8, 2014 @ 2:47 am
you are so so lucky
August 8, 2014 @ 4:02 am
You should move those Zelda books out of there. They will suck up moisture
even though they are a couple of feet above the flooded area.
August 8, 2014 @ 10:30 am
Them zelda book D: i just keep seeing one of them falling off
August 8, 2014 @ 1:27 pm
It’s so great you got lucky and your awesome collection wasn’t affected.
And nobody got hurt.
August 9, 2014 @ 7:32 pm
Man this sucks. Carpet is not the most ideal for basements, maybe you
should think about laying down tiles instead of a new carpet.
August 10, 2014 @ 2:56 am
I wish you the best of luck. Flooding is actually possible where I live,
but I’m safe
August 28, 2014 @ 10:41 am
Man that sucks. There’s always that risk when you put your collection in a
basement.
