Kingdom Tower, previously known as Mile-High Tower, also known as the Jeddah Tower, is a skyscraper currently under construction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, at a preliminary cost of US$ 1.23 billion. It will be finished in 2019.

I have to say that I am confused as to why the Saudi Kingdom would build
something so massive. Travel to Saudi Arabia is so restricted. They have
no tourism and most sensible people would never travel there due to their
Sharia law. The only place I would want to see is Mecca and non-Muslims
aren’t allowed into the city. It’s a shame. If it weren’t for their oil, it
would be a 3rd World country.
